S180 Heavy-Duty Strap Swing Seat – Residential Use

The S180 is one of our most robust residential swing seats, measuring 26.25″ x 5.25″ x ¼” and constructed with dual stainless steel inserts welded to a reinforcing strip and secured with stainless steel washers. These components are completely encased in EPDM rubber, a material formulated to withstand extreme temperatures and resist cracking, crazing, and oxidation.

This seat offers a tensile strength of 3400 lbs. and is designed to last up to 5 years in optimal conditions or 2 years in harsh environments. Made in the USA, this swing is built with long-term safety and performance in mind.

Installation Guidelines

• Recommended Chain Length:

  • 8′ swing frame: Use 5.5′ chains

  • 10′ swing frame: Use 7.5′ chains

  • Increase chain length proportionally for taller frames

• Connection Method:

  • Use H140 S-hook or H172 H-shackle

  • Attach fasteners through the seat holes and connect to swing chains

  • Close fasteners according to Figure A1.19 for Fastening Devices

  • Ensure fasteners are 5/16″ diameter minimum and closed securely

• Swing Clearance Requirements:

  • 8″ minimum between seat underside and protective surfacing

  • Use zone should extend:

    • Twice the height from the pivot point to seat front and back

    • 6′ side clearance from swing perimeter

    • 24″ between swings with full lateral movement

    • Never allow use zones to overlap other equipment

• Protective Surfacing:

  • Must meet ASTM F1292 standards

  • Avoid hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt

  • Use certified materials over level ground with adequate depth and maintenance

Safety & Supervision

• For residential use only

• Recommended age: 4–12 years

• Always supervise children while using swing

• Remove drawstrings, scarves, helmets before use

• Post signage per CPSC and ANSI Z535.1 regulations

• Warning label on swing must face upward and readable

Maintenance Checklist

• Inspect monthly and at the start and end of each season

• Check for:

  • Cracks in rubber

  • Wear around fasteners

  • Rust or damaged chain

  • Loose or tampered fasteners

  • Vandalism

• Remove swings in temperatures below 0°F or above 100°F

• Replace entire set if any swing shows significant wear

Improper installation or use, as well as vandalism or abuse, voids all warranties.
