Tire Swing – A145 Polypropylene, 30” Diameter

This durable 30” tire swing is an excellent addition to playgrounds, parks, or backyards. Constructed from heavy-duty polypropylene, it is built to keep bugs and water out and won't leave rubber stains on children’s clothing. With built-in eye bolts for easy installation and weighing only 19 lbs, it meets ASTM standards for playground use.

Installation Guidelines

• Mounting Hardware:

  • Attach 3 wide stainless steel H shackles to the tire's built-in eye bolts

  • Connect chains using narrow H173 shackles to the tire swivel

  • H175 wrench required for tamper-proof H shackle installation

• Clearance Requirements:

  • At least 12” from bottom of tire to surface

  • At least 30” between tire seat and frame legs at closest swing point

  • Use zone: Extend 6 ft + chain length from pivot in all directions

  • Only one tire swing per bay—no mixing with other swings

• Surface Requirements:

  • Do not install over concrete, asphalt, or hard surfaces

  • Use level ground with adequate protective surfacing (not grass or dirt)

Maintenance Checklist

• Inspect start and end of each season and monthly during use

• Check for:

  • Cracks, sharp edges, or rust (especially at eye bolts)

  • Wear or damage to chains, shackles, and connectors

  • Proper closure of S-hooks and H-shackles

  • Vandalism or tampering

  • Exposed or loose footings, obstacles, or debris
